A Community Challenge from The Wise Family Charitable Trust…

It’s time!  Can you do it?  We’ve got a challenge, and now we really need your help and support!  And it’s really manageable if each of us steps up to help. Every membership or donation that is given between now and December 20th, 2010, will count toward this Community Challenge Match!

The Wise Family Charitable Trust* contacted Central Sierra Arts Council’s executive director, Deanna Maurer, just this week.  ”We will give you an extra $10,000 right now if the community will match it!”  Those were the words from Millie Wise’s daughter and trustee, Margaret Hunter.  So, here we are asking for your help!

The Wise family will match community giving dollar for dollar!  How will it work?

You empty out your change jar, and bring in $10 for the arts. Now it becomes $20!

Renew your membership for $35 to $100.  Now the Trust matches your membership renewal, and CSAC receives $70 to $200!

Join Central Sierra Arts Council for the first time at the same rate, and again the donation becomes $70 to $200.

What if your business purchases an ad in the newsletter?  You donate $75 to $150, and it becomes $150 to $300.

What if your business decides to sponsor CSAC for a program, like Poetry Out Loud?  Your sponsorship of $500 to $1500 becomes $1000 to $3000!

And so it goes until we reach (or maybe surpass?) the $10,000 challenge!

So, look in that wallet.  See what you can do!  We promise that every dollar will be carefully spent.**

*Following the deaths of John and Millie Wise, The Wise Family Charitable Trust was formed to help the people of Tuolumne County.  John and Millie were local powerhouses in our community.  Two great families joined together in the 1970′s when each was widowed.   Married late in life, John and Millie agreed to work together to do great things for our community!  In addition to their generous charitable giving, they also served on the boards of directors of various community organizations, including Central Sierra Arts Council and Sierra Repertory Theatre.  They loved their home and their community.  We are deeply indebted to The Wise Family Charitable Trust and to John and Millie for providing CSAC with amazing support post-humously.

**CSAC has operated in “the black” consistently since 2003, following an amazing charitable event called “The Phoenix Rising.”  Every sitting board and each staff member has carefully managed the generous offerings of our community each and every step of the way.  As a donor, you have the right to expect that this commitment to fiscal responsibility will continue on into CSAC’s future.
